Clegg's plan for a 'mansion tax' does he live in this world ?
Now Clegg and Cable are back at their old Socialist theme of taxation on the value of your house. They seem to be proposing a start at houses valued at one million pounds which sounds fine until you realise that in many places in London houses that not long ago were not worth half that will now be in in their tax sights. In Twickenham which Cable represents there are hundreds worth that and more so dear old Vince better be careful what he does.Since neither of these comedians live in the real world it may not have occurred to them that many elderly people have lived in their homes for decades and the value of their homes have escalated unlike their incomes. Still they can always sell their homes and move away which would be the typical Liberal woolly thinking.
