Does Ezekiel Bread turn into sugar?

I am supposed to have no sugar (except for some fruit) and my nutritionist recommended I eat Ezekiel Bread. Does it not turn to sugar once I eat it? I am told that even 100% whole wheat bread does turn to sugar. Thanks for your help.
